- Flowers and gardens
Especially in the spring, I am struck by the contrast between the trees, the tree trunks, the branches, still dark silhouettes against the sky, and the new young growing vegetation.
There are surprising colour combinations, dark tones against acid greens. The appearing of blossom in March and April bringing soft mauves and pinks. The sun is low, and the light filters through the partly bare branches, spreading extraordinary shadows everywhere.
At this time of the year I work on both the garden, fruit trees, orchards and flowers and the changing light within the forests : details, patterns made by the vegetation. Just one square metre gives me infinite inspiration to work on.
Weeds, flowers, the greens blend and mix together to produce endless shapes and colour combinations.
